Having spoken to John a few days previously and believing all was well with Michael l was sad to learn of his passing but with respect knew he could always choose his moment! A true blue farmer and a spade was always a spade! Whatever lies ahead may there be good conversations and maybe a few green fields. My condolences to all his family. Percy

I always enjoyed our political jousting, even if I knew the vote was unlikely to follow. A fine upright man who will be missed by all who knew him, and, very particularly by his family. Very fond childhood memories of Michael & Phil visiting us, telling stories, codding but always taking a keen interest in what we're doing while smoking his pipe. Him taking an interest in others by asking questions & encouraging people about their work/interests is what made him a great man. He'll be sadly missed. RIP
