My sincere condolences to the extended Bresnan family on the death of Michael, my class mate and friend during our school days together in the old Ballinlough National School, across the road from the Bresnan family home.
Michael was always a solid, sensible and sincere, gentle guy who often talked us out of our more scatter-brained schemes which would only have landed us in hot water - yet again! - before school principal, the late Mr. Jack Corkery.
Though sixty years have passed, I still remember Michael - and his sister, Síle, who shared our classroom - with fond affection and will remember all in my prayers.
