Michael Carroll

I only heard today of Mick’s passing and so very sad to hear the news. I knew Mick when we worked in AIB in Uxbridge, he was a gentleman who loved his sports in particular rugby, the GAA and his beloved Austin Stacks. I remember fondly calling up to the finance department to discuss the latest results with him from back home. He loved Ealing but I think he was very happy to retire back home to his homeland. I will miss his regular face book postings. Rest easy Mick until we meet again.

Mick was a true gentleman, great conversationalist, knowledgeable and always good to meet during my time at AIB and at Ealing rugby club.

We were very saddened to learn of Michael's passing. Just last week we had our usual exchange of comments and views via Messenger while we were both watching the same game of rugby at the same time, Michael in Ireland, us in Australia. We will most certainly be thinking of Michael and we will miss his comments, his banter and knowledgeable views on every game of rugby we watch from now on. RIP Michael. So saddened to hear of Mickey's passing. The memories keep flooding back at this time - Mickey been taught the rules of rugby in the short drive from school to his first ever game in Caherslee - he learned quickly! He was in the first Business Studies class of what is now MTU. A summer holiday working in Birmingham and enjoying the first tastes of freedom. A UK 'wake' in the old Rugby Club before his departure to work in London. His annual trip home for the Festival to which he made a huge contribution. It was great to see him come home to retire and although he didn't enjoy the best of health he remained positive, engaged and engaging. Always a pleasure to meet. Rest in Peace Mickey

Mike was well read and always a pleasant and engaging conversationalist. We had a shared interest in rugby from our time in London..... Mike being a Ealing member and from my own association with London Irish, in those great Sunbury days.

I imagine Mike will be greatly missed by Jamesy and all of the rest of The Mall Intelligentsia!
