Our sincere condolences to Mary and all the Carty family on the passing of Michael. The news of his death came as a huge shock to all of us. The Carty family have made such a noble and generous contribution to the community life of Knock and Mayo over the years. There has always been a lovely, warm, and genuine quality to the Carty family .....salt of the earth Mayo people whom it was a privilege to know and call friends. It is so hard to believe that Michael and John and their great friend Paddy Joe O'Brien have departed this earthly world. They were outstanding Knock people and we will always cherish their memory deep in our hearts.

Deepest sympathies to Mary, Nicola, Lindsay and Michael jnr on the passing of Michael. I had a great conversation with Michael in Ballina in mid August and little did I know, it would be our last. Michael had a great interest in people, always willing to help those in need and had a great sense of belonging. He generously gave of his time for the benefit of many and enjoyed public service. May he now enjoy eternal happiness and reap the rewards of eternal life.

So sorry to hear of the sudden and untimely passing of Michael. Deepest sympathy to Mary and family on their sad loss of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend of all who knew and loved him. Michael was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and I have wonderful memories of playing music for him in his lounge during the years the late John Foley RIP used to run the local fundraising 'take your pick' draw on Sunday nights. May his gentle soul rest in Heavenly peace.
