I have good memories of Michael from his time with The Waterford Harbour Board .

We are so sorry to hear about the death of Michael so soon after Miriam. We were neighbours in Viewmount in the 1980s and have fond memories of living there. They were lovely neighbours. John also played 5 a side soccer with Michael and Ben. Sending condolences to all the Clooney family at this very difficult time, may they both rest in peace together.

My Sincere condolences to Michael’s family at this extremely sad time for you all, especially so after losing your Mother Miriam just a short time ago. I had the pleasure of knowing Michael for many years from my time working in Waterford Port via Dreelan Shipping and also from my time as a Harbour Commissioner. He was always a gentleman to deal with and willing to help with whatever he could. I can honestly say I never saw him in bad form, either when I met him through work or on many occasions, at Ardkeen Stores. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Michael’s death, so soon after Miriam. My condolences to his family. He was a lovely man, we shared a (damp) flat in Rathmines in the late 60’s , he was a fine footballer. Rest in peace Michael.
