So sorry to hear of Uncle Mike's passing. Along with my sister Chris we had a lovely visit with him last Summer at Talbot Lodge. What a lovely man. Such warmth and personality. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. RIP Uncle Mike.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Mike. I have so many fond and happy memories of spending time with Mike and Gerty in Galway, Malahide and when they visited from New York every year. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

We are so saddened by the loss of Uncle Mike. We have so many fond memories and will continue to remember his funny stories. There is comfort in knowing he is finally reunited with Aunt Gertie. Our condolences to the Conway and Gordon families. May he rest in peace. 🙏🏻

When I was growing up, Mike was my "New York uncle," who came over from County Galway and visited my mother's home, nearly every year until I was nearly 30. Because my mother and Uncle Mike came from a large family, fourteen "branches on the tree," as his brother John reminds us, Mike kept us all well informed about what the other Conways were doing, aunts, uncles, cousins and distant relations. He loved traveling, made good friends easily, and could spin a yarn, as they say. He worked for thirty years for the New York newspapers, and became a naturalized American citizen. Later, when my own father was laid low in the hospital by a lengthy coma, Mike rented a room in a hotel not far from the hospital, and sat with us at bedside for weeks. Of course, he invited us to New York his second home, and called the house when the Mets won the World Series. When the love of his life, Aunt Gerty, was taken too soon from this world, he launched a second chapter as a competitive walker on the senior circuit, and competed in track meets in South Africa and other countries. He also began a yearly quest to go on devout religious pilgrimages to Lourdes, Medjugorje, Knock and other famous sites for Catholic devotion. I will miss his visits, his many stories, and his wonderful example. He made ordinary things seem extraordinary and difficult things seem free and easy.

So sorry to hear of Michael's passing. He was a true gentleman and a devout Catholic. Sincere condolences to Michael's Family. On our visits to Talbot Lodge, we really enjoyed His stories of Athenry and playing Hurling for His beloved Galway. After the Rosary and Hymns, Michael would ask us to sing the 'Fields of Athenry'. He was a great story teller & I enjoyed many chats with him, he was such fun. He has been missed from our parish for a while. I know Rita & Una were such loyal friends & daily visitors to Talbot Lodge so I would like to extend my condolences to them also. Michael, a faithful gentleman of the Church is now with the Lord. I remember him as Such a gentle Man when I got to know him in St. Sylvesters Church, where I Work as Sacristan. Before going into Talbot Lodge, he used to come to Our Church on a Sat; for the 10 am Mass. He would love the chat, his Smile, was a Smile 😊 that will always be remembered.
