My deepest sympathy to all the chldren and grandchildren of Michael.

I first met Michael when he collected me from the airport for my second interview, just after Boris B. had won Wimbledon for the first time, and we talked about it all the way.

The next morning Michael was there again at the B&B I stayed in. Since the doorhandle fell off the door of my room and the phone did not work, I could not tell anybody that I could not come down. Without him, I would still be locked up in this room and never been able to turn up for the interview. So it is thanks to Michael that I got the job, because he got me out of this situation.

I often saw him, when I drove down to tennis and I met him last at his wife's funeral. I am very sorry that you had to say good-bye to him as well.

Michael made the Foundation's garden a paradise for trees, plants, birds, squirrels and of course all the staff.

May he rest in peace.

A true gentleman, always a kind word, great care advice for our plants at work and sometimes a bit of turf for our homes. I will keep fond memories of your Dad. Michael, may you rest in peace.

I remember him well from working at the European Foundation in the 90s, and the loving care with which Michael tended to the extensive grounds. He took great pride in his work, and is fondly remembered by those who knew him. RIP.
