Dear Shane please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your Mum and family on the passing of your dear father. You were just talking so foundly of him, to me recently when l met you at the ATU. May he rest in peace.

To Mary, Enda, Barry, Shane, Aisling, Ronan, extended Currid and Reynolds families and to all who knew and loved Michael - it is with a heavy heart that I offer my deepest condolences at this sad time of enormous loss and grief. Michael was a true gentleman. A wonderful colleague in our Summerhill days and a dear friend for many, many years. The home which he and Mary built and nurtured in Marymount has always been warm and welcoming. Many’s the chat was had over a cuppa, lunch or dinner usually accompanied by lots of fun and laughter which Michael loved. He was always most generous with his time and advice and I sought his counsel many times. His pleasant demeanour endeared him to everyone he met and he was exquisite company. A popular teacher and great community man, Michael leaves a notable legacy of which his family can be very proud. Taken too soon - I will miss Michael very much. God speed Michael. Thank you for everything you have done for me. May Christ and His Blessed Mother take you to themselves and may you be rewarded with the joys of heaven. Until we meet again ❤️

Michael was an absolute gentleman who epitomised everything that is good in life.His friendly smile combined with his vast knowlege made him the ideal candidate for a chat.
I will miss him from my visits to Marymount where we discussed everything from Sligo Gaa to Sligo Rovers and further beyond.

Michael absolutely loved being cared for in his own home by his adoring family,something which he constantly acknowleged and appreciated👏
He will be greatly missed by his loving family but also by those of us lucky enough to have known him as a teacher,colleague or simply just a friend.
