I knew Michael for over forty years. Funny, gentle, warm and a true son of Tipperary - he never lost that beautiful accent. Truly saddened to learn of the passing of one of life's gentlemen. My deepest and heartfelt sympathies go to Jean, and to Denis and Kieran. His passing brings to mind such fond memories of Eleanor. My sympathies also to Frank and Noreen.

I hope that happy memories of Michael will help to ease some of the pain. He made such a positive impression on those who ever came in contact with him, and he was always very kind and thoughtful to me in any of our encounters around Ballyroan. I will miss him.

My sincerest condolences to micks wife and family. I was never taught by mick , but we got to know each other well at the gate over 6 years where I was caught very regularly at 10 to 9. At reunions he was a really popular and engaging character who was a key part to the fun at all such gatherings. It was a pleasure and enriching experience to know him and St PETER will have a much nicer time at the pearly gates now. May he rest in peace.

Mick was a great character and an absolute gent, always saw the humour in things: he would police the college gates give a roar at the late comers or cyclists that had not dismounted, and then a wink before he urged you on your way.

He will be sadly missed by all that new him, heartfelt condolences to all his family and may he rest in peace.
Sincere condolences Jean, Denis, Kieran and extended family. So many great memories of Mick and his great sense of humour. A fantastic friend of dad's they shared many many years of friendship together. I have no doubt dad is up there, along with Eleanor, plently of books on hand waiting patiently for his dear friend. Another great loss to the Crescent. R.I.P. Mick x
So many great memories of Mick both as a neighbour and as my teacher in De La Salle. Always there to give a smile and brighten up the day and mood. He didn’t even give me too much stick when I smashed the front door window with a golf ball when being silly in my front garden. Rest In Peace Mick, Dave Stynes

To Jean, Kieran and Denis, It is very sad to hear about your sad loss of Mick. He was always a character as I was growing up on the road and also a great help in my schooling at De La Salle. My biggest memory of Mick was when I would bump into him after having my hair cut and he would always notice and comment on my “School boy haircut”. I am sad I will miss the funeral but I offer my condolences and May he RIP.

Very sorry to hear of Mick’s death. I didn’t have the pleasure of being taught by him during my time in De La Salle from 1969 to 1974, as our class had other science teachers, but of course knew him as a kind and humorous Vice-Principal. Since then, I have met him on various occasions over the years, and was always lifted by his pleasant outlook, his gems of knowledge and wisdom and his clever and gentle wit. He truly enriched the De La Salle Churchtown family.

Sincere Sympathy on Michael's passing to Jean, Denis, Kieran, Noreen & Frank. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time.
I am very sorry to hear of the death of Mick. I was a junior colleague of his at De La Salle in the seventies and I learned a great deal from him - not only about teaching but about many facets of life and learning! I have never forgotten his personality and wonderful sense of humour. My deepest sympathy to all the family.
Sincere sympathy on the sad passing of Michael to all his family. Whilst he was resident in Dublin all his life a small part of him remained in Carrick On Suir and Tipperary. He took a keen interest and continuously stayed in touch with all events from his native town. We met regularly on big Tipperary hurling days on route to Croke Park, most memorably before and after the 2010 victory over the ‘old enemy’ Kilkenny. Michael radiated pride of place on that occasion. A true Gael and Tipp man, May he rest in peace.
