Kate, I was so sorry to hear of Michael's sad passing. He was a valued colleague for many years in the RTC/DkIT where he also represented staff on the Governing Body and in the TUI. He was always ready for political debate (college and national politics) in the college canteen. You and your family are in my thoughts at this sad time.

Micheal was a colossus in the engineering school and wider Institute governance and community for many many years at Dundalk Regional Technical College / Dundalk IT. He always had time to listen and he always gave sound advice; he has left many dear friends and colleagues behind, and many a now better educated skilled person owes gratitude to him.
