Michael Dorcey

Sorry to hear of Michael's death. Huge love to Marie, Eavan, and all your family. I remember all of you, and Michael's beautiful hospitality, and fabulous conversation when I was travelling and staying with you all in Valencia.

Mi más sentido pésame, le conocí cuando llegó a Valencia, fue una gran persona, nunca olvidaré su voz alentando a nuestros equipos, sus conversaciones, sus manos enormes, su gran compañerismo con todos, siempre estará con nosotros, un gran abrazo a toda la familia.

Un cavaller dins i fora dels camps de rugby. Un honor haver compartit moments amb un mestre dels valors que són tan importants en la nostra societat. La seua petjada perdurarà en moltes generacions del Rugby valencià. Una forta abraçada a tota la familia Dorcey.

Michael Dorcey was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed by everyone Who knew him.

Querida familia, como uno mas de todos los que hemos tenido la suerte de compartir parte de nuestra vida con Michael, comparto con vosotros la pena y el dolor.
Siempre quedara su recuerdo, grato, amable, enérgico: las conversaciones después de los partidos, las comidas en la playa, sus gritos de animo, todo ese tiempo que pude compartir con el, y con vosotros.
Esos recuerdos que compartimos y permanecen son lo que mantendrán a nuestro querido Michael siempre vivo.
Mucho animo en estos difíciles momentos y un fuerte abrazo.

Una de las personas más queridas y respetadas del club y de todo el rugby valenciano. Siempre con una sonrisa y con una historia, un recuerdo, un consejo para contarnos. Será recordado y añorado. Un abrazo para Liam y familia. DEP.

Una gran tristeza la noticia del fallecimiento de Michael, pero su legado y enseñanzas se mantendrán siempre entre nosotros. Un abrazo a toda la familia.

Gracies per haver vingut a viure a la mateixa ciutat haver coincidit en el mateix club i viure grans momoments de lo que es la nostra passió el rugby. Persones com tu fan del mon , un mon respirable. Deixes una familia magnifica, pots anar-te'n tranquil i molt orgullos .

Dear Maire, I am so very sorry to learn this horrible news. I am still lost in the shock of it. Your heart must be breaking.The silence of your home without him must echo like thunder. Michael, always so furiously alive and energetic. Larger than life, great lover of life, surely cannot be gone so early. I know there are no words to comfort your sorrow, a loss that has come much too soon.

My big brother Michael. To me his going, feels so premature because the childhood we shared in our Irish home,that ship-like house by the sea, so often filled with laughter and love of life, still can seem no more than a couple of years ago.

Michael had a special gift for living, each hour, each day at full speed. He filled our house with sound and fury. After our father's premature death, encouraged by our mother, he allowed me to follow him about his daily life, like a little dog at his heels. I can so clearly picture him even yet, rowing, swiming, kicking a rugby ball. I see him racing up and down from our house to the harbour, jumping the steps, twin oars balancied on his shoulder, singing at the top of his voice. This is how I still picture him most vividly. It is how I want to remember him.

Oh Dear Maire, what sad news from Tessa. You will so miss his voice calling ‘‘Maire” , the Love of his life. For me he was the cousin forever in my childhood and student days. He was a creator of wonderful memories, with me to this day. I will miss knowing that he is still ‘around the corner’. Maire and Family I can only imagine how many more memories you all have….Husbands and Dads are very special in a loving home. Mind yourselves as Michael would have hoped to do for each of you.
