Condolences Eileen Aidan Alanah and Brian .To Michaels siblings Mary Frank Padraig Teresa and all your families on such a sad loss for you all .we were like the same family growing up we did so much together going and come from school ,family trips to the beach it was a very unique childhood that we grew up next door to our 1st cousins people always got our families mixed up with brothers and sisters..Michael was such a gentleman and it was so great to have the memory of his visit home last year for my mams funeral it was still a family occasion with members from all parts of the world meeting each other after many years. RIP Michael 🙏

My sincerest condolences to Eileen, Aidan, Alana, and the Downey family on Michael’s passing. I had the honour of being a friend Michael’s for about 45 years. We became friends in secondary school, worked together in Cork Crystal, and served in the FCA together. But my best memories of Michael are our half hearted efforts to form a band, a survival weekend in Killarney, and an exhausting trip around Washington D.C. Throughout it all Michael was funny, engaging, loyal and dependable. He was a good man, a great husband and father, and a wonderful friend to many. May he rest in peace.
