My deepest condolences on Michael’s passing. He was a great colleagued during my time at the Bar. Kind and generous to younger barristers, with his easy going manner and wit it was always a pleasure to work with him and to chat away during breaks.

To Linda, Lucy, Paddy and John, Very sorry to have missed the celebration of Uncle Mick's life. After the sadness at his passing, Mum and Ray were fascinated to hear just how much there was to the man. We lost touch in more recent years but I always enjoyed his company. I was still holding out for the oft-promised balloon ride but now it's not to be! He's a great loss to the world.

Michael was a great loss from the Library over the last few years. He was a sound colleague, the best of company and a great friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Michael was a lovely man. Always cheerful and with an air of urbane mischief about him. He was very kind, particularly as Tony McGillicuddy has pointed out to younger colleagues. I missed his presence when the CCJ opened. A great colleague who believed in the institution of the Bar for whom he gave his time selflessly.

I have so many fond memories of the times we spent together growing up, especially those fun trips he’d take us “into town” in the car. I’ll always remember the chaos we’d cause in his computer room, and stealing his mints! Those memories are such a big part of my own childhood. I’m keeping you all in my thoughts and I’m sending you all my love during this time.

Linda, please accept my condolences on Michael's passing. He was always very kind to me at the Bar, particularly in my early years. He was known to enjoy a bit of Library gossip with his inimitable broad smile and wicked glint in his eye. I will miss his irreverent good humour. He had a richly deserved reputation as a gifted barrister who could always be trusted to conduct his case fairly. May he now rest in peace.

Michael I did not know you personally, but you really embraced life in our little village, always out and about
supporting the local businesses, and you always came across as a very kind and gentle man, very sorry to hear of your passing, my condolences to your family, and may you rest in peace.

My condolences to Linda, Lucy and all the Durack family on the loss of Michael, who was a welcoming and friendly presence for young barristers when we entered the Law Library. Michael worked tirelessly for the Bar when he was on the Bar Council, and many of us who have offices in the Distillery Building can only imagine the countless hours he spent working with others to bring that project to fruition. He cared deeply about the Bar and his friends who toiled in court alongside him on a daily basis, and his loss will be keenly felt. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.

I knew Mick at college, where he was always Mick. Just a lovely guy, good humoured and witty, always a pleasure to bump into and join for a pint in Dwyer’s of Leeson Street. I am truly saddened by his passing and send my sincerest sympathy and condolences to all Mick’s family.

He was a man in spite of a hugely successful career never discuss in our interactions in Doheny's pub as a matter of integrity his victories.
He came across as an enthusiastic down to earth guy.
The last time I saw him was some years ago the IFI cinema in Temple Bar
He was sitting just in front of me watching enthralled with Bergman's masterpiece Fanny And Alexander.
