To Mary, Deirdre, Orla, Trish and Emer and all your family. My deepest condolences. Sending you all so much love and strength during this extremely difficult time. Mary taking on myself and Michelle as babies to mind, you all became family to us very quickly. Michael was the most wonderful man. I keep thinking how lucky were myself and Michelle to have had such a warm, gentle, funny and wise man, such as Michael, as an extra Grandad who we got to grow up alongside and spend such special time with. Thanks to Mary, we spent our childhood sitting next to Michael watching quiz shows with him getting every answer and sharing his binoculars watching the boats and ships come in at Ard Barra. And then as we grew up getting to appreciate his knowledge of history, his story telling, charm and wit, brilliant conversation and words of wisdom. I also loved hearing stories of what a creative and magical Santa he was to his girls. His love for Mary, his girls and grandchildren was always so evident throughout all his years. We will forever miss you Michael, but feel so grateful to have such gorgeous memories with you that will last a lifetime ❤️

Mary, Deirdre, Orla, Trish, Emer and all the Dwane family, we were so sad to hear of the passing of Michael, yer very cherished husband and father. As Mary minded two of our children, Michelle and Sandra, Mary and also Michael and the girls became some of the most treasured people in our lives, and beyond precious to our girls. Michael was such a gentle, kind and wonderful presence, and always had a great welcome for us. We are beyond grateful to have had Michael in our lives, and to still to have Mary and the girls as part of our extended family. You are all so much in our thoughts xx

To Mary, Deirdre, Orla, Trish, Emer, Eve, Conor, Aislinn and all of Michael's extended family.

Michael will forever be missed and all of his wonderful qualities will live on through happy stories of his life. He was like family to myself and Sandra, spending our childhood in Ashford with him and Mary. A true Cork man with charm, the gift of the gab and a wonderful sense of humour. My memories of Michael include visiting him at work in the butchers and seeing him so cheerful when chatting to all of his customers. He was a general knowledge genius and there wasn't a quiz show question that Michael did not have a correct answer for! He used to be bent over in laughter telling us stories and have us laughing at the same time. He loved to play music for us and tell us about his favourite songs.

Michael was a family man and he absolutely adored Mary, his four girls and all of his grandchildren. He was so proud of them all.

I was privileged to know Michael.

I only found out today when visiting my mom in Maryborough Nursing home that he had died while I was away. I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to pay my respects in person. There is no doubt but that he was a treasured husband, Dad and Grandfather, it was rare to pass his room without seeing one of his family, relatives or many friends visiting him. May God give you all strength to get through this very difficult time and may his gentle soul rest in peace.
