Our deepest condolences on the passing of dear Michael. He was a kind and gentle man with lovely stories and jokes to tell. We have very fond memories of him working in our house. Such a talented man. He will be deeply missed.

Sincere sympathy to Louise, Isobel, Catherine and families on the passing of your Dad, Michael. “Michael two doors down” as he became known in our house was still climbing ladders to cut hedges and trotting down the walkway when we first arrived on the crescent 13 years ago. While we marvelled at his age, he quickly endeared himself to us all, especially our children, with his gentle warmth, patience, generosity and sense of humour. We will miss his passing smile on the crescent, witty remarks and repeating ourselves as he pretended not to hear us, only to be greeted by his cheeky grin. It has been our great privilege to have met and known both your parents and their memory will live on in ours.
Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.

I only got to meet Michael after he had reached the milestone of 100 years.

I had the honour and privelege to read a poem I had written to look back on his incredible life.

I was struck by his alertness of mind, his wit and his singing. A truly inspirational man.

Michael was a wonderful character so full of life and always with a smile. He spent many happy times in Ballyroan Community Centre at whist and at the Mens Shed.which he loved to be part of. He loved singing and had a lovely voice.

One of my fondest memories of Mr Maguire was from his painting and decorating days and the way he used to run up and down that ladder with such athleticism which undoubtedly helped him reach the grand old age of 104. Rest In Peace Mr Maguire.

We're all deeply saddened by Michael's passing. It was such a pleasure to live beside him, albeit for a short time, and to have him wave to us every day. We'll miss the banter over the wall, our kids were in awe of him and he inspired them with his wit and jovial mood. Our condolences to Louise, Isobel, Catherine and all his family. I met him on the Crescent many times heading out on his daily walks.
Only two weeks ago he greeted me with a smile and a wave.
You couldnt ask for a better neighbour.
