My condolences to Nan and the Woods family. I was abroad and could not attend Michael's funeral. I remember his warm and gentle demeanor. I do hope that you can take some comfort from treasured memories at this sad and difficult time. My he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to Nan and Michael’s family. Michael has left a wonderful legacy in his family and in his contribution to the development of the Credit Union Movement, where I first came to know and admire him. A founder of St. Mary’s Navan Credit Union (now Credit Union Plus) and its longest serving CEO / Manager, Michael was also instrumental in the establishment of an insurance company, ATMs and cash cards for Credit Unions nationally. We worked together on several projects. The Minister for Finance appointed him the first Chair of the Credit Union Advisory Committee (CUAC) when it was established under the Credit Union Act 1997. At the end of his term he was reappointed. Michael’s enduring strengths were his leadership, vision, intelligence and perseverance to make things happen. Allied to this he was sociable, kind, empathetic and focused on serving his community in Navan and beyond. I doubt his like will be seen again. Rest peacefully dear friend.
