I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the Fitzmaurice family on the death of Michael. No greater servant than Michael ever served Roscommon's cause and promotion in the capital. The year books which he edited and enabled is a great reservoir of information and one of his legacies for future readers. He was of course a gentleman and great to meet where positivity abounded. May he rest in peace.

Our love and sympathy are with you all at this sad time. Fond memories of seeing his picture in the Roscommon Hearld. He was a true and faithful Roscommon man. I watched his mass. His Family spoke of him with pride. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
To Attracta ,Deirdre , Ronan, Declan and Aidan on behalf of Deirdre and myself I convey my heartfelt sympathy to you all on the death of your Dear Michael at the great age of 96 .
What a legacy Michael has left ! .Michael led a very busy life in Dublin between his work in Arnotts and what started out as The Roscommon Men’s Association and later became The Roscommon Association . His energy input was palpable with the help of my father Paddy Connellan and Lily . We as a family of 6 children have wonderful memories of Michael and Attracta as a couple on the many visits to our home .
Michael ably helped by Attracta became the pivotal figure in the Roscommon Association in keeping the Roscommon diaspora togeather in Dublin from the 1950s . At a personal level Michael had outstanding qualities of generosity and goodness that brought so much joy to so many .
Now that Michael has left this world to start a new life may he enjoy eternal life with our God in Jesus Christ .
May Micheal enjoy rest in peace and may Attracta and family take some comfort and sense of pride from everything Michael stood for .
Tony Connellan

The arrival of another Roscommon Association Yearbook was always eagerly anticipated in our childhood. Under Micheál’s devoted editorship they opened a door to us on Roscommon’s cultural, political and sporting history. As a collection, they represent a fantastic legacy left behind by one of the proudest Roscommon people I have had the privilege to know. RIP Micheál. Deepest sympathy to Attracta, Ronan, Declan, Deirdre, Aidan and families.
Brian Costello (Grandson of Michael & Mai Coleman late of Roscommon Association, Dublin)

Sincere sympathy to Attracta and family on the passing of Micheál and also to the Fitzmaurice family Ballinlough. When I went to Dublin in the early 60’s I have fond memories of attending functions of the Roscommon Association and Micheál was always most welcoming and friendly especially having come from Ballinlough. Also our paths often crossed when shopping in Arnotts and we would have a brief chinwag on home news. Micheál was a perfect gentleman.
