We offer our sincere sympathies to all of Michael's family on his recent passing may his soul rest in Peace. I remember him fondly visiting our home to see my mother and father and family when I was a child and he would reminisce about the olden days and my grandmother's kind heart and her griddle bread that he loved so much in Tieraclea Tarbert Co. Kerry. He would take photos on his visits with us on his polaroid camera and hand them out to us to keep. It was very cool back then to see the photos instantly and I remember him cycling everywhere. I can remember him saying 'bloody magic' when he was excited about something and he made us laugh. He was a man that you would not forget easily and we will remember him very fondly in our thoughts and prayers. He was a lovely man.
I only learned today of Mick’s passing. Mick was great friends with my late Dad Paddy Butler. Mick often came to our home in Fermoy & he was always wonderful company.

Mick was on my mind & I made enquiries about him this week & I was so sad to hear that he had passed away.

Rest in Peace Mick & enjoy the banter with Dad again.

"Daddy Mick" was a solid man and a good man for the music. He loved the traditional Irish music as much as any man. And he'd let you know if a particular tune was good or if it were shite. Mick never minced words, and the only thing left to say is St. Peter better have those pearly gates open when Mick arrives or he'll burst him for certain. My visits to Ireland will not be the same without Daddy Mick.
Mick May you R.I.P my thoughts & prayers or with your family at this very sad time you were a lovely man & a lovely neighbour .
Deepest condolences to Jay and Harris and Blake families on the passing of Mick. May he Rest In Peace. Petrina and Ross

So sad to hear of cousin Micks passing. He was so kind and generous to all of us in clare down the years.while he was able we looked forward to his yearly visits. His knowledge on music and books was encyclopedic and he loved nothing more than tracing his roots. Many the day we visited graveyards and he would study every headstone there. He could relate to young and old and always got the last word in every debate, due to his sharp wit.
