Dear Maria, George and Cristina,
I have only just heard the sad news. My deepest sympathies to you all. Michael was a beautiful man and a searingly great artist, his works full of poise, balance and a calm desire to elevate our human experience. I'll never forget the wonderful sunny day we shared at Letatlin and Oulart making our short film with the late, equally lamented, Paddy Cahill.

He has left a lasting legacy in many ways, not least with Tulach A’ tSoilas on Oulart, which I revisited yesterday in his memory.

It is with great sadness that I have learnt of Michael Warren's death. I offer my deep condolences to his family. I have appreciated his work over many years, one felt that he was inside his sculptures and it simply emerged from him by magic. this is very strange but years ago in the early fifties when Rodin was not as appreciated as he is today, I stumbled on his then neglected museum in Paris and the guardian let me in to wonder and draw as I wished. His work gave me the same sensation and I returned many times to draw. I hope that gives you an idea of the depth of my appreciation. My thoughts are with you.

Deepest condolences to all the family, especially to Richard. Michael George was a couple of years ahead of us at school, and I still recall his wonderful paintings exhibited at the annual school day each June, before he went on to large sculptures. May he rest in peace.

Maria, Cristina and George, it was with profound sadness we learned of Michael’s passing. He was such a warm, supportive and talented person, he will be greatly missed. His contribution to visual culture in Ireland is unmatched. His work enriches our lives daily.

It was with great sadness I heard of Michael’s death. I first met Michael through the Sculptors Society of Ireland at an event he hosted at his studio in Letatlin. It was such an enjoyable experience to hear him speak about his work and his philosophy on life in general. I never missed a chance to attend an exhibition or a talk given by him. He was a sculptor of the highest integrity, agonising over every detail and has left us the wonderful legacy of his work.
My sincere condolences to his wife and family and those in the arts who worked closely with him.

Dear Maria, Elaine, Richard and your families. We were so sorry to hear that Michael has died and regret that we were unable to be with you all for his final farewell. He is often remembered as we pass his various works, like his thrones at Leighlinbridge. He lives on in his amazing sculptures.
