Michael was one in a million. A friendly warm kind hearted soul who made time for everyone young and old. I had pleasure of talking to him shortly after he first arrived JVC and many times since.Honestly the interest he took in everyone and the time he gave to everyone was unique. Everyone knew him as the life and soul of JVC. Visitors and locals alike had a very soft spot for him in their hearts. Anyone who knew him could never forget him. It was with great sadness the news of his passing was received. May god bless his family and friends during this very difficult time.

Absolutely heartbroken to hear about Michael’s passing. He was truly the kindest, most genuine soul, with an infectious personality that could brighten anyone’s day. No matter what, he always took the time to chat with us in JVC, making us feel like we weren’t so far from home. His warm smile, his laughter, and the way he welcomed everyone with open arms will never be forgotten. JVC won’t be the same without him, and he will be so deeply missed. Michael was a lovely natured man. We only got to know him over the last couple of years through visiting McCaffertys, JVC. Every time we visited he always came over to say hello and have a bit craic. He was very friendly and welcoming every single time, regardless of how busy the place was.

We were devastated to hear this terrible news, we met Michéal a few years ago when we holidayed in Dungloe. He had the great gift of hospitality and was welcoming to us and our children and our dog Paídí who was always the guest of honour. It was clear to that Michéal was highly respected and admired by his co-workers, indeed we had talked about coming to see him in JVC. We were delighted to see him back for the Mary festival and we shared many laughs after work in his company. Our hearts go out to his family especially his mother who he spoke often about.
