Mick, I will remember you for your earthy good humour, your dignity, your integrity, and your boundless determination on the hockey pitch. When our club wanted strong leadership at a difficult time, you were the President we needed. Even when you stopped playing, your words of wisdom from long nights in your home helped us to navigate our way through challenging times in the club.

Rosarie, Cliona and Sinead, thank you for your patience while we borrowed your lovely husband and Dad to support us dealing with club affairs. He was a diamond. I can not imagine your pain.

Anne, Barry and Noel (Ashton Hockey Club), Tony (Pembroke Wanderers), John (Ownahincha) and Bernard (CBC) you are all in my thoughts.

The world is a poorer place without you Mick. May you rest in peace.

So very sorry to hear of Mick's passing. Condolences to Rosarie and family and all my super Murphy cousins. I remember some feisty hurling with Mick back in our early teens days in Ardfallen! And luckily caught up with him a few times in recent years. Sadly that can't happen again.
