I knew Michael as a stalwart of St. Joseph's, always around the ground on a Saturday morning and sometimes serving us coffee at the hatch, having the craic with everyone. I knew him also as an excellent physio. He was a remarkable person who really understood people, physically and psychologically. He always knew the right thing to say and the right advice to give, whether it was serious or to get a laugh out of you. I think he had life figured out better than most of us ever will.

My condolences to niamh and the family. The one memory I will always have is me and niamhs joint birthday party. I knew Michael since preschool being friends with his daughter he was such a good dad to her and all of his kids and Leanne is a good mother it will be hard to parent alone but you have support from your 2 oldest kids. You will make many More good Memories with eachother. Seeing your daughter go to her debs and your other daughter getting married and. Your younger kids will follow in his footsteps

Sincere condolences to Michael's wife Leanne, their four children Kayley, Niamh, Shay and Sofia, his parents and siblings, all of Michael's extended family, his lifelong close friends, his St Joseph's and Mount Sion families and all associated with him through his work in recent years. I was very lucky to have worked alongside Michael for a number of years, lucky to have played ball alongside him and also against him for many years , lucky to have traded conversations in recent years about how St Joseph's were back in schoolboys football and doing well and also starting schoolgirls teams, lucky to have recently chatted about Mooncoin Celtic trying to help St Joseph's topple Southend for an u12 league , unfortunately for Joseph's that didn't work out, and lucky to have stood in the rain in Ferrybank and spoke about how unfair the penalty shoot out play off at the U9 Clover Tournament was on the young boys taking part just before he departed to see his St Joseph's win the 4th Division cup.
An extraordinary guy, who has left his mark on many many people in so many different ways. A tough, hard,fair player. An enthusiastic, passionate, infectious coach.
Good clubmen, coaches and volunteers are very hard to replace.
Great clubmen, coaches and volunteers are impossible to replace. Michael was of course the latter.

Michael or Granter as we more fondly knew him was a larger than life friend who always had your back. His sense of humour always had you laughing. He always looked out for others. We will miss you. Thanks for everything Michael.

Sometimes life is so unfair, Michael was a character, never passed without a chat and a bit of banter, always left you with a smile on your face. He’ll be sorely missed. Rest easy Michael. Condolences to all the family.

I never knew Mike outside of his physio but he always had stories to tell about his wife and the kids and the mayhem he’d get up to, they always took the weight out of life.
