We were shocked to hear of Michael passing, he was such a kind lovely man, incredibly sharp in his analysis with a beautiful turn of phrase and was a wonderfully supportive and caring friend.

While I haven't seen Mick for decades when I was in St. John of Gods in 1987 he was one of the few of my drinking friends to visit me. He gave me a new hard copy of Patrick Kavanagh's collected works that day (I still have it) and I always remembered that kindness. Rest in Peace Mick.
