1st year anniversary mass for Michael will be in Sacred Heart Church Roscommon at 8pm on Sat 8th Dec
The family of the late Michael Harkin, would like to thank sincerely those who have sympathised with us on our sudden loss of Michael. We express gratitude to our extended family and the many friends and colleagues, both of Michael's and the family, who travelled long distances to be with us and have been so loving and supportive at this difficult time. For those who were unable to travel, but sent cards or messages, your shared memories and kind words will always be a comfort. To Miriam Hunt and Roscommon Senior Church choir, Síofra Cox, Joe Healy and Donal Keigher for your beautiful music and to Mick’s musician friends who gave him a wonderful send off, we were deeply touched and appreciative of your kindness. To Fr Eugene Mc Loughlin, Bishop Jones, Monsignor Travers, Monsignor Mc Keown, Canon Hever, Canon Lavin, Fr Gannon, Fr Leogue, and Fr Coughlan, we thank you all for concelebrating Michael’s funeral Mass and for your support and prayers. A special word of thanks to Fr Pat Lombard, Sligo, & Fr Joe Kennedy, Dublin, and to the Gardaí & members of the Fire Services in Roscommon town. Also to Pat Smyth, Funeral Director, Roscommon & Val Mc Murray of Foley & McGowan Sligo, for their professionalism and sensitivity. As it would be impossible to thank all individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our appreciation.

I am very sad today to hear the news.
I am far away but remember you like yesterday. You had amazing vitality.
I wish God's comfort to Michelle and Kids, and Mum and brothers and sisters, at your passing; it is an unbelievable loss for your family and hard to take.
You will be greatly missed.
Goodbye to a friend; one of my first friends at Uni; always remember you for introducing me to Pink Floyd, Bach, Beethoven, the Band and basketball.
You had a huge spirit which will live on.
I will miss you.
Godspeed Michael.
Love and light.

To Michelle, Neasa , conor, Nollag and Barry I want to say how sorry I am that Michael has passed on. I remember many great times we had in Batty's. Michael was an inspiration as a musician . He knew all the complicated ins and outs and I envied him his skill and style. When I play 'Blue Skies' I think of him playing it and Michelle singing it. I learned it because I wanted to be as good a player as Mick and even though I'm in Australia, when I sing that song I'm back in Batty's with Mick and Michael Treacy and Michelle and times are good. He used to nail J.J.Cale's song 'Call Me The Breeze' and the roof would lift off the place. When he would pull up outside Batty's and the Honda Civic full to the gills with keyboards and amps you knew it was on! 'I've got that green light, baby, I've got to keep moving on'. Mike was a great musician and he had a lovely kind heart may he rest in peace.
Sad to hear the news of Michael's death.
Michael was gifted as a keyboard player - very sorry to hear of his death. May he rest in peace.
