I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Michael Hayes yesterday. Dr Hayes was my family GP for over 20 years since I was a young child. He was kind, patient, gentle, and always had a great sense of humour about him. My sincerest condolences to Michael’s family at this sad time. May he rest in peace.

I only heard today of Dr Hayes’ death. I want to add to the many glowing tributes here. I was a patient of Dr Hayes for many years. I felt very lucky to have him as my doctor, with his gentle, friendly, informal manner. I always felt he had great wisdom, adding strong emotional intelligence to his skill and experience as a doctor. Thank you Dr Hayes and my condolences to his family.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Dr Hayes's death.
He was my GP for 30 years. His profound medical knowledge brought me through critical times in my life with various medical issues.
He was so calm and re-assuring.
It was great when he talked about art, books and travel at the end of our consultation.

I’m very sorry to see that Dr. Hayes died. He was my GP for many years. He was a wonderful doctor- compassionate, non-judgemental and wise. He loved books and he recommended several. He was an ‘old style’ doctor and a good listener. He actually saved my life. If there is a heaven, Michael is there reading a large biography. May he rest in peace.

I am very sorry to learn of the death of Dr Michael Hayes. Although I never met Dr Hayes personally, I knew all
about him - as he looked after my parents for many years, and they regularly sang his praises to me. “I have great faith in Dr Hayes”, my mam would often say. “We never felt rushed …. Dr Hayes always had lots of time us for us” my dad would invariably add. My dad just phoned me to say how sad they are on hearing of his death. On behalf of my parents, and my family, I would like to express our gratitude to Dr Hayes for being a wonderful family doctor. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Dr Hayes he was our Family doctor for over thirty years and was always there if we had a problem.
He saved our sons life with his quick reaction to our house for that we couldn't thank him enough. When I ever called to the surgery we spent more time talking about Manchester United than the issue I had.Rest in Peace Michael and keep an eye on the reds.

Dr Hayes was a wonderful kind human being and the very best type of Doctor as he had time to listen and reassure, no matter how busy the surgery was. He was my Doctor for over 30 years and as a family we considered him a friend as well. I loved the little chats at the end of every consultation where he would sometimes offer great travel advice for an upcoming holiday or recommend a good book . He was the epitome of a 'gentle man'... warm, empathetic and a genuinely good soul. He will be remembered with fondness and I hope he is at peace now. Deepest sympathy to his wife and family. Dr. Hayes was my G.P. for 35 years, since I was a teenager. He was the most gentle. kind, empathetic doctor. A very holistic doctor and I always enjoyed our long chats. He took a genuine interest in my life, growing up. He was like a part of my family. When I was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago he told me not to worry if it returned as there were new drugs that could treat it. I was heartbroken to hear he had passed away. He deserved a long and happy retirement with his family. To the Hayes family, I am so sorry for your loss.

He was so knowledgeable and experienced, We always felt a sense of cam and care when he met us in the surgery.
Laura was a quiet, serious student. A gentle girl who worked hard at school.

Hard to explain the sadness of myself and my two daughters, losing our lovely wonderful family Doctor for about 40 years, all his patients were so devastated when he retired, and nothing was the same after. One was never on a timer in his care, and I miss our talks about films, which we rarely disagreed about. Its difficult to understand two such losses in your family.
