Dear Síle, Eoin and Fiona,
I was so saddened to learn of Michael’s recent passing. I fondly remember him as Master Hennessy and feel privileged to have been one of his many pupils. His classroom, as I recall, was a place of enrichment and encouragement, balanced with just the right measure of fun.
But it is a little nameless act of kindness for which I will always remember him. It was he who rescued me when my little four year old hands failed to open the door to the Junior Infants room on my first day at school.

May his soul find solace in the peace of Heaven.
