Michael Humphreys

I am devastated to see the notice of Michael’s passing. We have been friends for over fifty years and have always been in regular contact. I couldn’t work out why I hadn’t heard from him so decided to search. He has been a wonderful friend to me and I will miss him deeply.
Deepest condolences to his family. I know how much they all meant to him.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Michael in the EU Delegation and European Commission Representation in Bulgaria.
The accession of Bulgaria in the EU in January 2007 is part of his legacy, it will be in the history books and will be remembered forever by the Bulgarians and beyond.
A remarkable person, fine diplomat, exceptional professional, role model leader, very kind man and great friend that will be deeply missed...
We will treasure all the memories and remember Michael with the greatest affection. May he rest in peace !

All the members of the Nowlan family offer their condolence to all the members of the HUMPHREYS family on the sad death of Michael. . As children the Nowlans grew up as neighbors and friends of the Humphreys, sharing the thrills and spills of a semi rural life in Ard Sulus and in the orchard there, Michael was in all our lives in different ways over the intervening decades and we will miss him.. We got to know his beloved Inna and share a bit of their exciting cosmopolitan life in Europe and elsewhere.

My deepest condolences. It's hard to hear that he has gone. I have very good memories of the time in Sarajevo. He was a very good manager and a great person, always friendly and correct. A lot could be learned from him. RIP.

John and I were deeply grieved to hear of Michael’s sudden death. We greatly valued Michael’s friendship and help in Ukraine . It was a pleasure to spend time with he and Inna in Kiev and Brussels . All too short in the case of Inna . We have her book of beautiful photographs.

Michael was a former colleague and flatmate from the London days. He remained a great friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Mick.

A great shock to learn of Michael's sudden passing into the other world. In addition to being a good friend to many, he had a distinguished career in the EU's external service and worked for the EU with great courage in difficult conflict zones. He will be dearly missed by his friends and colleagues.
