You had a friend for life when you got to know Michael J. Met him many times since he retired and always up for the chat. I spent a brief spell in the Council planning office working with Michael in 1969. We were both born on the Mill Road and I have fond memories of Mr & Mrs Lyons who occupied the gate lodge to the Bishop's Palace.
