Very sad to hear about the passing of Michael Joe. He drove our school bus for years. Not sure how he managed us with such kindness and patience always... but he did. A true gent. Sincerest sympathies. May he rest in peace.
To Michael Joe’s family , with great sadness I remember that little boy my mom, Catherine McIntyre lovingly cared for after the untimely passing of his dear Mom, Micheal was with until one sad day his father came and took him away from us. That day is forever itched in my mind. I can still hear myown father Micheal Mor, crying with heart and continuously repeating in Gaelic“ I should not have let him go with him” and my dear mother trying to comfort him by reminding him “ It is his own child.“ Our home was very lonely for a long time without him. Although there were 9 children left to replace him.
Anytime I returned to Faulmore and had the great pleasure to see him again I reminded him how much we loved and how heart broken we were after his was gone from us. My sister Annie spent a month in Moraghrory to my sure that the move was not too traumatic for him. So sorry for your loss. Kathleen McIntyre Murphy. 471 Drive. Springfield! Mass. 01129 .

Deepest sympathies to all the Walsh family, I remember this man distinctly growing up in Belmullet he brought many people in and out of town on the coach when transport was not as freely available and weather it was early in the morning or in the evening on his return he also had a wave, a smile or a kind word. I have fond childhood memories of staying with Uncle Mike and Auntie Mary when we used to land down from Clontarf. We were always made to feel so welcome. Uncle Mike was a kind and generous man. I can still remember a small gesture like him coming down the bus to make sure I was on board after my first night out in the Palm Court. We’re all thinking of you in Dublin. Conor, Sheenagh, Ella, David and Meabh.
