Bernie , jenny, joanne , mark and derick . Very sad time with your dads passing. Mike was a great business man and a great friend to many . He achieved so much in life and he took it in his stride without any fuss . His biggest achievement and where his heart lay was with his family. Every goal he scored was for them. I was lucky to have been a close lifetime friend, i will cherish every memory of great times and the laughs with himself and gertie in times well lived. I am so saddened to learn of Michael’s passing - a true Gael in every respect- manifesting a great love for his family, his great royal county and love of sport especially GAA . His tastes were simple but these masked a man of strength and kindness…. linked to an inbred integrity that came from an ethic of hard work beginning at the age of 14 years -in an Ireland which is now unrecognisable to most. My affection for this gentle-man which he was in the real sense of the words grew with our every meeting and I parted on each occasion feeling the better of another encounter with nature’s best . I offer my deepest sympathies to Jennifer and family and her siblings … and to Michael’s sisters . Ar dheis Dé go raibh a ainm dhilis.
