Mickey gave sterling support and assistance over many years to the Patrick Kavanagh Centre annual festivals, in particular the Inniskeen Road, July Evening and the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award Weekends. He was a quiet gentleman and a supporter of Patrick Kavanagh's legacy of poetry and literature. He will be deeply missed by the staff here who appreciated all his efforts with us down through the many decades.
