I had the pleasure of knowing him for many years since we worked together in the nineteen seventies.
He truly was one of nature’s gentlemen and was always so good humoured and such a really nice guy.

On behalf of the March Garda Class of 1974, I wish to convey my sincere sympathy to you, Lillian and Family on Michael's sad and untimely passing. May he rest in peace. I spoke spoke to Michael in late February when organising our 50th reunion in Galway. He was so looking forward to attending our reunion but withdrew a few days before the event. Little did we know what was around the corner. Very sad.

My sincere sympathy to the Kelly family on the sad passing of Mick. He was one true gentleman. It was a pleasure to work with him for many years and indeed an honour to know him. He always showed great wisdom and shared that with many others. He had a great interest in all sports but his love of hurling and golf was well known. He will be sadly missed by all. Many years later i ended up living close to him in Belgard Hgts. He was a gentleman on and off the field. May he rest in peace.
