Sad to hear of your huge loss Micheal was a lovely gentleman fond memories of an always smiling and chatting man when I worked in Delgany Golf Club, and many times bumping in to a great couple around Charlesland there after, thinking of you Frances and family may his gentle soul rest in peace.

Dear Francis and Family. I’m so sad to hear of the passing of Uncle Michael. We go back a long way. I remember when Michael used to collect me of the boat and bring me to the train and then collect me from the airport and put me on the train down to Galway and back to England. Happy Memories, when I stayed with you and your family in Deansgrange and I attending Bolton’s street College in Dublin taking the exam for the board of works as a drafts man. So sorry to learn of Mick’s passing. A really lovely gentleman who made people so welcome on arrival in Delgany GC. Keep the sixes off the card, he’d advise. If only. A Bar A’Challa (Woodquay) man we often chatted about Galway. And of course, his beloved nephew Tom Rooney, a brilliant broadcaster colleague who left us far, far too soon.
