Brigid, we are so sorry to hear of the sudden and shocking manner of Michael's passing. Our thoughts are many of times past in Waterford, spent with Michael and his always engaging and vibrant personality.

I offer my most sincere condolences to Brigid, Róisín, Kate, Diarmuid and the extended Laffan and Burns families on the tragic loss of Michael at Seapoint. I learnt so much from Brigid and Michael during my time in UCD and afterwards that I still use to this day. The premature loss of Michael during his swimming accident must be a horrific blow to the Laffan and Burns families at this critical time. I wish you all well as you come to terms with your devastating loss.
