Deepest Condolences for your loss. Mr Lorigan was so kind to me when he was my 5th class teacher. I only joined the school in 4th class and was traumatised by the 4th class teacher. Then moved to 5th class Mr Lorigan was so kind to me, he was patient and spoke to my Mum with such kindness. He really was the nicest teacher and man I ever encountered and taught of him often driving past the school. Rest in Peace Mr Lorigan 🥀

I have known you as a pupil (Rang a 5) and again, for a few years,as a colleague, when I was an NQT in the early 2000's, in An Mhódhscoil Luimní. Mhúin tú mo dhearthár Michéal ó Catháin chomh maith.

You were brilliant,witty and always had that attention to detail when retelling a story! You were a phenomenal teacher and mentor. We, the students, mattered to you. You always asked after past-pupils, their familes and how everyone was doing. And you remembered everything and everyone.

I cried into my hands when my mother shared the news of your untimely passing. You have left an indelible mark of a lifetime on me and I am grateful for it.

I would like to offer our deepest condolences on your devastating loss,
Mr Lorigan thought my son and whenever we talk about primary school, his name will always come up, my son is 34 this year and he still ranks Mr Lorigan as his favourite teacher, a Legend in his own time.

Michael was such a great friend of ours and my mum Pauline held him in such high regard - he was always there for her, especially when she’d go to change her car. She’ll ensure that he has a great welcome in heaven and so sad that it’s another one of the good ones gone too soon. My dad passes on his sympathies as well.

I notice that a lot of condolences are written by past pupils of Michael, R.I.P but I had the privilege of teaching him as a beautiful, gentle boy for the first four years of his school life.
