MICHAEL LYNG

My deepest sympathies go out to the Lyng family and his many friends. As a former pupil of Mr Lyng (Sir), I admired and respected him deeply, and he will be deeply missed by the many pupils he influenced and taught over his long career. He is loved by the Rower-Inistíoge community, and will be much missed.

I was very sad to hear of Mick's passing, through the grapevine. I knew Mick from our time in Mary I, and have many fond and fun memories of him. My deep condolences to his family.

Our deepest condolences to Mr Lyng's family and friends on his passing. All 5 of us had the privilege to call Mr Lyng 'Sir' during 4th & 5th class in Marymount NS. Mr Lyng was and always will be that teacher we look back fondly on and treasure the memories. He was kind, thoughtful, inspiring, passionate and always saw the humour in situations. Fridays were always the best days in Mr Lyng's class filled with Math's challenge, computers and rugby. May his gentle soul RIP.

I have very fond memories of a holiday in Chamonix with you, quite a few years ago now, where Mick was " blessed" amongst women and small child and managed to stay calm, good humoured and kind amongst the chaos we brought with us! Thinking of him and you all.

Was saddened to hear about the death of Mick, he was in the year ahead of me in college & he had a great intellect, was great fun & very quickwitted. Along with him and a band of other brothers (and sisters ) we passed many a happy hour in the old Library between & after lectures!
