I am very sorry to hear of Mick's passing, he was a lovely person and a brilliant engineer. My deepest sympathies to the Mackey family.

It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Mick. He was a brilliant leader and engineer but what is most memorable was his gentle and friendly nature. My sincere condolences to the Mackey family on your very sad loss. May his soul rest in peace.

Very sad to belatedly learn of the passing of Michael Mackey. I worked with Mick in ESB and latterly ESBI and greatly appreciated his advice, support and friendship on many teams in which we served over the years. He was a true gentleman and an inspirational leader, leading through his gentle personality and by example. It was a privilege to have known him. May he rest in peace.

Very sad to learn of Mick’s passing and sincere condolences to Patricia, Ed., Kelly, Lourdes and all the Mackey family in Dublin and Cork. Mick’s very pleasant and supportive personality will be deeply missed by all of us who had the privilege to know him. As Chairperson of Dublin North East Labour Party in the 1980’s and over later years, Mick was a very articulate and inspiring advocate for community development and social democracy.

To dear Trish, Ed, and Kelly on the untimely passing of Mike, a very dear colleague and personal friend for all of our working lives in ESB/ESBI and retirement. When the sad news broke last Friday, I immediately asked Marie to welcome him into his new life; she admired him immensely. He was such an inspiration to us all with his dedication, commitment, work ethic, technical excellence, and humanity, and not least his unselfish work for CIGRE. A true friend who will never be forgotten.

I had the great pleasure of knowing Michael (Mick) over almost all of my working life, when we shared so many years together in ESB and ESB International.
Mick was a very highly regarded colleague and a very good friend.

It was a shock to hear that Mick had passed away. We were college colleagues at UCC right to the end in 1972 as Mick and I both opted for the Power Group in final year. Together with Brian O'Mahony (now in USA) our project group of 3 worked on the development of the "new technology" for electrical power Inverters which are now very much in use in every day life for both private and public power generation.
Brian has been in touch with me and he expresses his deep sadness at Mick's passing.
He was always very approachable and easy to be friendly with and when we last met during the reunion in 2022 that was still the mark of the man Mick was.

On behalf of Brian and several other college classmates who have been in touch with me may I express our sincere sympathy to Mick's wife, Patricia immediate family Ed and Kelly and all his extended family and friends.
