Sincere condolences to Sheila and all the family on the passing of Mick. May he Rest in Peace.
To Mrs. Mann, Michael (Jr), Paul, Tracy and families, words fail me to express the heartfelt sorrow that I feel for the passing of Michael (Mick).
It brings a smile when I remember him, the quotes, the history lessons, and the many hikes in the Wicklow mountains, where for every trail, mountain, forest and river, he had a story for, I’m sure he made half of them up, but they always brought a laugh.
He was the anchor-man of the Ballyfermot Civil Defence Rescue team in the 80/90’s, always there to lead , advise and pull you up if things where not what they should be, which had the respect from us all.
As life takes it many turns and we all have different paths to take, my one big regret is that I did not stay connected more with him, and for that I will be truly sorry.
From the outside I could always see that Mick was a devoted family man and as hard as it might seem now, it will be the little things that will bring back lovely memories and smiles, easing the pain.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, at this time.
Rest now old friend. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

It's very sad to hear of the passing of Mick.
A true Gent in every sense of the word. And a real friend. I'm so happy to be able to say that i knew Mick and was inspired by his passion for his family and friends and indeed the Civil Defence.
As you packed up your kit and marched over yonder hill as the sun set on your lifetime of commitment to everyone you encountered, you've left a legacy for future generations of volunteers to emulate may you rest in peace Mick and know you'll never be forgotton.
Prayers to your family for they know their loss is our loss. 🙏
