I wish to convey my deepest sympathy and condolences to micks family Catherine. Louise garretts. Clodagh. Karl. Ben. Camohie. Alex and extended family on the sad passing of mick I remember in the 1960s and 1970s Crumlin boxing club in pearse pk was distroyed by fire we had to move temporarily to the back of the national stadium. Mick mc carthy his brother paddy mc carthy and Jim christle were our trainers. Crumlin at the time provided nearly half of the Irish national team of boxers as well as that the junior teams over the years were undefeated in any tournament around Ireland which a testament of how brilliant these trainers were I have great memories of those times. One thing I remember about mick when he taught you something you listened. Mick you will sadly missed especially your wit. Ps I also forgot to mention another stalwart from that time paddy brennan.

I feel privileged to have cared for this wonderful Champion, who was a resident at RCNU.

He was a true gentleman, always showing great respect to the staff. Loved by everyone, he earned deep admiration as a champion boxer.

His wife and children supported him every day, a testament to the loving father he was.

Losing him is truly heartbreaking, and with my faith, I pray for his soul to find peace.
