My condolences to Michael's family at this sad time. I have happy memories of us growing up on The Green in the 1950s and early '60s.I left Fethard in 1962 but still look fondly on our lives together at that time. We were a closely knit community then and, in many ways, we still are. May Michael rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to all the Mc Carthy families on the death of dear Michael.I was saddened to hear this news.Unfortunately I was unable to travel to his funeral but was very much present as I watched his beautiful requiem mass via webcam..the service,readings,music and eulogy...all reflected the wonderful man/ husband/ dad/ grandad / brother / friend and community person that Michael was.....no doubt a life well lived.May he rest in deep everlasting peace.
