As I live in Belgium I could not be with the family in this sad time. But I was with you all in thought and followed the service here online. I will always remember Michael as my brother-in-law whom I loved as a brother. I wish to express my condolences to the McCourt family and of course to my nephews and nieces whom I hope to meet next summer in Ireland. With all my love, Josephine

Very sad to hear that Michael has left this world. I was a science student in Maynooth in the early seventies and was friendly with Michael partly through a shared interest in photography. He was a really lovely guy and I remember visiting him in Carton so many years ago now. Condolences to all his family and friends.

I was very saddened to hear of Michael 's death. Sincere sympathy to all his family,relations and friends. I have many fond memories of Michael from our IIRS days in Gladnevin. He was a true gentleman with a constant smile and a lovely gentle sense of humour.

I have great memories of Michael from our early days in Roseville House , Glasnevin in the mid seventies. Michael was always a gentleman, very friendly and we had a lot of laughs and camaraderie in those days.

My sincere sympathies to the McCourt family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Michael's passing, unfortunately too late to attend funeral. Myself and Michael started work in IIRS, Forest Products Dept on the same day in '75. He was a good colleague, a gentleman in every sense of the word, a green environmentalist before it was fashionable and a keen photographer. Indeed his photographic skills were such that he obliged me by doing the photographic duties for my Wedding in '77.
A sad loss. RIP Michael.
