Michael McGovern

Met Maeve Peyton this evening and she informed me of Michael’s recent death.
We are saddened to learn of the passing of one of life’s great characters and an absolute gentleman and we offer our sincerest sympathy to Neasa, Maeve and Aveen together with the extended McGovern families on their sad loss.
Fondest memories of our journeying together from Rathgar down to Bodenstown back in the late 70’s/early 80’s to play golf at which he was one seriously gritty competitor. Both himself and Tom Conlon now gone, it is very sad.

I just heard the news of Michael's passing. He and my late father Matthew were good friends. Whenever I met Michael I always came away smiling , he was a brave , handsome and gentle man . May he rest in peace
