I was shocked and saddened to hear of Michael's sudden passing. My sincere condolences to his family who he spoke dearly of and he was so proud of. He spoke kindly about his late mother and as he was a witty man he told many funny stories. He was a true gentleman and an excellent tutor. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I was shocked and saddened to learn about Michael’s death. My condolences go out to his sister, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces and their partners. When I was attending the Accounting Technicians Ireland course at the Ballina Further Education Centre, Michael was a great teacher. I liked the way he would explain things in a way that was easy to understand. He had a great teaching technique. He always had a good story to tell. He was kind man and a gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Michael was my teacher in college. We knew each other for less than two years, but he had a huge impact on my worldview. He treated his students like his children. And for us, he became an Irish daddy. He accepted us no matter what and no matter who we were. He treated people of other nationalities with great respect and always affectionately called us "my Ukrainian friends". Michael always wanted to help everyone and did everything he could and even more to make everyone comfortable and well. He will forever remain in my heart as a smart, wonderful, kind, supportive, understanding, intellectual with a great sense of humor ... Michael was very sociable and caring ... A real Man with a big heart and enough love for everyone ... A very hard loss ... My condolences to his loved ones 💔

He took great pride in all his students and was very vigilant in enbling them to plan their careers in accountancy equipped with their ATI qualification. We both love listening to Steely Dan music while I was trying to balance the books and he humming to the tunes. You'll be sadly missed Michael.
