I saluted and talked to Michael at hundreds of county and club GAA games in Clare and elsewhere over the past 40 years and he was always so courteous and nice. I knew he was a great St Joseph’s Gael and laterally a stalwart in Clooney/Quin. What I did not know was he held down a most responsible career in the Council as the County Secretary. Michael was a most kind and unasssuming gentleman with no airs and graces. So many of us could learn from him. What a loss to his wife, family, brothers and community. May he rest with all Clare greats in eternal peace.
