Ann i was so shocked & saddened when you told me , of Michael,s sudden passing , its really hard to believe , Can i just say to you , it was a pleasure to have got to know both you Ann & Michael , in Marlay park putting green & on ye,er walks around the park , we always had a lovely bit of chat , & laughs too , i would also like to say to you ANN , he Mick was as nice a person as i ever met in my life always smiling ,& so pleasant& with a word for everyone. A real gentleman ,So im really sorry to have missed his funeral Ann, & i can imagine how you Will miss

We were shocked to hear that Mick passed away and saddened that we missed his funeral. We first met Mick through Aidan (RIP) and Sadie.
A great guy. At our last cup of coffee together he mentioned in passing that something had shown up on a medical report, which did not register as he was so fit and healthy looking. He will be missed.

I knew Mick from his time at St Damians BNS and later at Templeogue College.

He then worked in the Laurels.

In later years,we got to meet and chat with him regularly at St.Agnes Church, a happy and contented man.

Gone too soon

We were so shocked to hear of Mick's untimely passing. Mick and our family go way back; he has looked after generations of Coffeys in the Laurels, even our grandparents. Always a gentleman, always a glint in his eye. Always delighted to stop and chat when you bumped into him. Deepest condolences to his loved ones. Rest in peace Mick.

Having spent most Sundays of my childhood in the Laurels after Manortowns games, myself and brothers became very fond of Mick. Always had lots of time for us, chatting away and showing us tricks. We'd always make sure to have a tobelerone at Christmas and an Egg for him at Easter. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. RIP Mick 🙏🏼

Mick was a great character, we knew him from his early times at the Laurels where we were always greeted warmly and felt very welcome. He had a lovely personality and wit. The Laurels was not quite the same when he left. We also remember Mick's time in the Garda reserve, again typical of the man giving of his most valuable asset (TIME) in the service of others. My earliest memory of Michael in CBS Crumlin was of seeing a beautiful piece of art work painted by Michael representing Tallow Co. Waterford …. Cited in my own county!!! We immediately had a lot to talk about and identify his Déise relations.
Michael was a joy to teach and afterwards to meet in the Laurels from time to time. My heart goes out to all who mourn Michael…. A lovely student, a great young man who did our school proud xx. Not to mention his modelling career !!

I can still see his art work … one of his many talents.. the greatest of these was his lovely smile and really warm personality… always so ready and willing with a friendly word.
