To: Michael, Lorna, Richard,
You won't know me but I had the enormous pleasure of knowing and working with your dad and your uncle Dave in RTE Network for a few years in the 1990's. He was one of the nicest men I ever had the pleasure to know. He was so kind, charming, witty, funny and fair to all us young lads over the years. I only learnt after the funeral of his passing. Many of the lads who worked with him over the years are also only hearing now about his death and we all are very sad to have missed the funeral and all thinking of him. He had a vast array of stories about his time in RTE and the mischief they all got up to over the years. Whenever I was on my own in the canteen it would make my day to sit with him and always he left me laughing and smiling. I will always hold him dear to my heart. He and I both loved Glencolumcille where we know your mum is waiting for him in that beautiful spot. When i next make it up there I will make a point of visiting his final resting place. Please accept now my sincere condolences on behalf of all his colleagues who had the pleasure to know Mick and of course his brother Dave. You must be broken hearted at his loss. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís.
