Sincere sympathy to phyll John Marie and all the extended Mccormack and Walsh family may Michaels gentle soul rest in peace
I was so sad to hear about Micks passing. I got to know Michael during his time at the Longford news and I found him to be the most friendly and agreeable person that you would want to have around the place. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and I extend my deepest sympathies to his mother Phil, brother John, sister Maria and all the extended McCormack families. Ar dheis de go raibh ar anam

Michael’s passing. He had a great presence on the street since his childhood. A respectful greeting for all that passed and always in good humour. Sorry we were unable to be with you at this sad time. May Michael Rest In Peace.
Sincere Sympathies to Phyllis, Marie & John on the sad passing of Michael. He was such a lovely man and so jolly. May he rest in peace.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Mick's death. As a young graduate, fresh out of university in the summer of 1997, I managed to secure a real job as a journalist in the Longford News. Editor, Paul Healy, thought Mick and I a good pairing, to seek out stories during the "silly season" of the summer months. Almost every day, we would load up his red Opel (Corsa, probably?), with various photographic equipment, spiral notebooks (to add to the other 50 wedged on the dashboard), a couple of pens - one of them would surely work, probably the green one.
Over the course of that summer, Mick and I travelled every inch of County Longford, attending countless agricultural shows and summer festivals, driving parallel up and down the Shannon to get the stories of various boating holiday-makers - anything really that would fill pages.
We drove many miles, scoffed countless breakfast rolls and laughed infinitely. What a beautiful soul. The world is just a little grey for the loss of him.
Sincere condolences to Mick's Mum, brother, sister, extended family and friends on the passing of Mick. Anytime I met Mick he was very respectful but always a great person to have a chat with. May He Rest in Peace 🙏
Our sincere condolence to all the McCormack family at this sad time. I was delighted to be involved in the first ever Gay Byrne outside broadcast in Durkin's in 1995 which Michael was the centre of. My deepest sympathy to Micks mother Phyll, his brother John, sister Maria and the extended McCormack family on the sad passing of the great character that was Mick McCormack. The large crowds witnessed at both days of Micks funeral shows the high regard he was held in by so many people. Condolences to the McCormack family following Mick's passing. He was very popular among journalists as he was both great at his job, and a brilliant character who was great to be around. May he rest in peace.
My deepest of sympathies to the whole McCormack family on the passing of Mick. I hope that the last few days have been made that bit easier for you all seeing how well respected and loved he was.

Mick was - as has been said many times here already - a true gentleman who was always up for a bit of craic or banter. He was also well capable of the deep chats when the situation arose and we solved many of the world's problems (in theory!) over a cuppa back in the day.

Mick was a fantastic photographer and was more than happy to attend the "niche" events that others may have avoided. He loved people and where there were people, there was a story and a photo.
He was 'before his time' in his attendance at ladies football matches and became the unofficial official photographer for the Ros ladies during their campaign to win the junior all-Ireland final in 2001. He continued to attend ladies football matches right up until very recently, capturing all the important moments.
Mick had an ability to capture a magical moment in what would seem like the banal to others. I still have a photo up on my bedroom wall at home that Mick gifted me about 10 years ago which is just that. Magic in the seemingly banal.
I sincerely hope Mick knew how much he meant to everybody. He is in a better place now.
Rest easy now Mick. Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal.

Sincere condolences to the Mc Cormack family on the sad & too early a passing of Mick. May he rest peacefully. His jovial , witty & good nature was a joy to behold.
To all of the McCormack family, I’d like to express my deepest condolences to you all on the passing of Mick. The town of Ballaghaderreen shares your loss. It has lost one of its great characters.

There was never a dull moment in Mick’s presence, he lit his surroundings up wherever he went. I have so many great memories of him, even as a young boy, I remember eagerly awaiting his regular walk past the Drake house because he was such good craic. He tried to convince us that his actual name was ‘Gorgeous’! From those old memories, through to recent ones, sharing stories and chatting football in Solans Bar with him, they will live on. Mick was always special to be around. We will all miss him dearly.

Rest easy Mickey Doo.
