Sending condolences to all of Mick’s family, I had wonderful childhood memories of Mick ,Ann & children in their home in Killbarrack, Mick was always smiling & laughing and happy to see me & my siblings, he’d take us out for a jaunt in his car and shout out hold on to your knickers as we go around the corners. RIP to our lovely uncle Michael. He will be so missed by all who knew him. Such a lovable fun man.

A special mention to my nanny Noleene who took the best care of him for many years. A huge part of her life is now gone.

Another special mention to my mam Siobhan who has supported my nanny and Michael no end the past year and a bit, and of course Tina and Paula.

It is with a heavy heart and a trembling hand that I write this short tribute to my Uncle Michael. He has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and his passing this week leaves a space that cannot be filled. He and my mother Olive shared a deep bond, forged when my grandmother Mary spent a long time in hospital recovering from TB.

I remember with joy staying with Uncle Michael, Auntie Anne and my cousins in the Ballymun Flats, which felt like luxury apartments to us back then. While my mum was in hospital having one of my siblings, he’d come home in the early hours after a night shift in The Irish Press, wake us with bags of sweets and chocolate, and have us in stitches with his Benny Hill routines.

He was generous, warm and wonderful company – a true gentleman with an infectious smile and laugh and a gift for picking a winner at the races. You could feel his presence the moment he entered a room.

My dearest Uncle Micko, I will miss you more than words can say. May you rest in peace with those who have gone before you, in the company of the Angels and Saints in heaven.

I will always remember uncle Micko's stories and larger than life personality. He had a great sense of humour and laugh. Keeping him and all the family in our thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace x
