I only knew Mr.Taft for an unfortunately short period of time. We called him Mr Taft out of great respect for the true gentleman that he always was. His memory will always live on with us especially standing on the pier looking out to sea. So sadly missed.

We had known Mick since we first started fishing from Cork Harbour. He was an absolute gentleman, a great friend and gave his time and knowledge to all freely. He will be sadly missed, may he rest in peace.

My deepest and sincere sympathies to the extended Taft family on the very sad passing of Mick

Mick was such a true and kind person with a friendly word for all who knew him. A hard-working and knowledgeable fisherman, he purchased his beloved Inis Mor from my late Uncle and fellow fisherman Bill Frahill. The Inish Mor was build by the late Honk Geary and was used by Bill to service the Daunt Lightship. When the Daunt was decommissioned Mick took over the Inis Mor and fished the harbour and beyond for many years. Sadly that trade hardly exists.

Rest easy Mick in gentle waters and I will miss our regular chats in the car park.

There aren't enough words to describe Micky Taft.
A gentle, kind, humble man who encouraged me and many others to do our very best, to work as a team & to be humble in our successes & our defeats.
My favourite memory of Micky is seeing him and his beloved dog working away on his boat as the sun shined over his head.
He always looked so happy on his boat and on the water, his loyal dog by his side.
You couldn't help but smile when you met Micky because he stirred up so many happy memories.
He championed so many youngster's over the years and I was lucky enough to be one of them.
He was the heart of the rowing club & I will always remember him fondly.
