Michael you were one of life’s pure souls mixed with a genius mind. I am sure Kathleen & Paddy are happy to be reunited with you.
Mike had such a gentle and loving presence. I loved seeing his face light up whenever we had a conversation, especially about GAA. I have fond memories of dancing with him at events and will cherish his quiet love.
Iam so so happy that i met Mike during my year in An Teaghlach. We had so many special, kind and funny moments together. Iam thinking about him often. I will miss him a lot and i will never forget the time we had together.
May dear Mike rest in peace. He was a gentle soul and a great GAA man. Sending love to his family and everyone in L'Arche Cork
My condolences to all in An Teaghlach and L'arche Cork on the passing of Mike. My uncle Colm O'Donovan moved into An Teaghlach over 10 years ago and he made him very welcome. He will be missed.

I was an assistant in An Teaghlach for one year and I had the chance to get to know Mike during that time. I will truly miss him and I am so happy that I saw Mike this summer while visiting Cork. I will never forget the spins to Cobh, our trip to Killarney, reading the newspaper with him, watching Rugby, eating apple tart and just spending time together. I know that Mike is loved by so many and we will all miss him.

I only got to live with Mike for about a year, but he made a big impact on me with his gentleness and passion for the things he loved.
I will forever remember the trip I took with him to Dublin to visit Croke Park and the wealth of knowledge he had about the sport he loved so dearly.
I am so very thankful to have known him, short as it was, and so very sad to hear about his passing. May he rest in piece.
I am so sorry to hear of Michael’s passing what a lovely gentle man. My sincere condolences to Michael’s family and his many friends. Rest in peace Michael.
We send our deepest condolences to Michael's family and friends and to the L'Arche community in Cork where he will be greatly missed by all there.
As I add my voice to all here, I share the sense of loss on hearing of Mike's death. I recall bringing him to Tallow to see the monument to one of his hurling hero's, the great Waterford goalkeeper, Ned Power. Later that same day, we took Mike into Lismore where he met some neighbours of Ned Power. I am happy to hold that memory of Mike on a day when he was so happy and child-like in his uncomplicated joy. Rest well Mike. Slán go raibhfimid le cheile i Ríocht Dé.
Condolences to Michael's family and friends and Larche community.
I will miss hearing Michael sing his songs at music group and seeing his many hats RIP
RIP Michael, and sincere sympathy to his relatives and friends. Michael and his parents were great neighbours in Bishopstown in my younger days.

Mike was such a loving, kind soul. Never without his all important caps (Kerry, Cork, Munster, Ireland). It was an honour to have known him these 15 years. Rest in peace Mike 🙏
Mike, the most gentle Soul, and kindest human being who always shared his sweets. You will be dearly missed.

Very sorry to hear of Michael passing. Such a kind gentle man. An example to us all.
Thank you, dear Mike, for being such a good friend to me, to Maria and to so many others over the years. You were a man of the heart which comes from the French word, coeur, which also means courage. Thank you for having the courage to be true to yourself, and to be faithful to your own journey. There are many wise and clever people in the world but very few who embody a quality of the heart as deeply and as authentically as you.
Rest in peace Mike, be at rest you will be missed.
Thank you Mike for the times we shared tog. Fond memories of your love and devistation for Princess Diana, your sweaty mints, unravelling your stories, insistence on visiting old friends, and tender touch on my cheek in thanks. You showed us what was important.
I’m so sorry to hear about Mike. He was truly one of a kind, always there with a warm smile, ready to share a cup of tea and a good chat (UP CORK!!!). His gentle spirit and kindness left a mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. I’ll miss those little moments with him, and I’m sure so many others will too.
May Mike rest in peace.
I often remember seeing Michael, an old neighbour, standing at the gate of the family home on Curraheen Road, on my way home from school, in the 60s. A gentle soul. An dheis de go raibh a anam.

Marie O'Regan,
Curraheen Road.
We are very saddened to hear about Mike’s passing and have wonderful memories from the time I lived with him in An Cuan. To all the wonderful people of L'Arche and many people around the world who knew Mike, our sincere sympathies! May Mike rest in peace! Florina & Tom
Growing up in the L’arche Community in Cork I remember Michael as this gentle giant who always had sweets to share! He communicated differently than most but it was usually easy to get the ‘gist’ of what he was trying to say. It was usually something about GAA! I remember fondly his rendition of ‘The Banks’ at many L’arche gatherings. Hope your journey to the next Life has gone smoothly Mike.
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Michael Coughlan (Mike). I will always cherish the memories of the time I spent with him at An Teaghlach House, L'Arche, Cork. My second day in Ireland began with a drive to one of Cork’s beautiful villages, accompanied by him and Paula, an assistant from Germany. Michael, an early riser, always lent a helping hand with the daily activities in the house. He was a soft-spoken, kind, and humble gentleman, and I remember how saddened he was the day I moved to another house. Yet, whenever we met at gatherings, he would come close and gently touch my shoulder with a warm smile. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Adieu, my dear brother Mike.
To all the wonderful people of L'Arche, all those who befriended Mike and whose lives he touched over the years. May we be grateful for the Blessing and the witness of his humble life that has reached so so many throughout his years.
Codhladh samh a Ruinin.
From the very first day you came to Suaimhneas you brought gentleness and generosity into our lives. All those milky mints in your pockets that were gifts to all of us from your heart. I loved the Kerry/Cork GAA rivalry and I loved you.
My deepest sympathies to all of those who loved you and shared life with you over the years. You were a corner stone of community.
Sincere sympathy to Phil Jack Ursula & all who mourn our wonderful spiritual friend Mike. Many happy memories of visits to your home Phil & the welcome & goodies also offered by you. Mike so loved those visits.
May Mike Rest in everlasting Peace
